Mexican Cruise

While the kids got to play with Grandma & Grandpa Sironen 2 weeks ago Justin & I got to go on our own play date with some good friends John Seibert & Jade Moon along with Eric & Jess Guenther. We drove out to LA where we met up with Adeye for some dinner and drinks. The next morning we drove down to long beach where we took sail and headed out to Puerto Vallarta (where we did a zipline/Canopy tour), Mazatlan (where we did some shopping) and Cabo San Lucas (where we got to take a little water taxi tour of the local attractions and then got to have a little rest and relaxation at Cabo Wabo Cantina).

Summer fun!

We have had a lot of fun this summer with the kids! They really enjoy going swimming or playing with water in general (especially in the dog bowls out back). We are in the beginning stages of potty training Carson. She is pretty random in saying when she has to go potty so I am now a broken record, "Do you have to go potty, how bout now? now? now?". You can tell when she starts to get annoyed because her tone changes to, "NO MOMMY!". We are just glad that she is showing interest and of course wants nothing to do with the little potty, so only wants to go on the big potty (it makes cooler noises don't you know). The other cool thing is that when she sits on the big potty, Mr. Jonathan comes and sits on the little potty because he wants to do EVERYTHING she does. So maybe this will get him to wrap his mind around it a little sooner, by no means is he ready though, but it is cute because he has been on at the right time a few times and he gets SO EXCITED! Now that she is OH SO BIG, Ms. Carson now has her own room (of course I have no photos of it...shut up Stacy!). It is in the primal stages as in there is no paint on the walls and I still need to refinish her dresser but she is sleeping in her bed at night and doesn't have the habit of sneaking into our bed either so that is good! Other then that Carson is doing great, last night was actually the first time that she told me "I wove you too mommy", I came running into Justin (after shedding a few little mommy tears) and told him, he didn't believe me so he came in and told her he loved her and she said that she "woved him too". WE ARE DORKS but it was very cool!!



Jonathan has grown so much this summer! He seems to be talking so much and saying so many different words! His favorite right now is, "BUZZ". Grandma Kathie got him addicted to Toy Story. Well, they have movie Saturdays and a different movie is picked each weekend for them to watch, well after one viewing he was obsessed...and it's bad. He wakes up in the morning asking to see buzz. I give him a buzz toy..."No mama, watch buzz". So we have tried to space out the viewings of Buzz but out of sight is not out of mind for this little one. Very driven when he wants something!! So with Carson moving into her own room he now has her old bedroom set. Next step is to paint Carson's room and to also get Jonathan some cool beach decorations!

Growing and Growing....

Jonnie had his yearly check up last week and my how he is growing. He is weighing in at 26.8 lbs (78% for boys his age), he is 34" tall (98%). He is talking a lot now and he loves to dance!! Anytime a rap or song with a big drum beat comes on he starts to dance :O) Maybe he got more then just his name from his Uncle John. Pretty soon he is going to be coming to me and saying, "Mom, I am going to take you on a musical journey" :o)

Carson had her check up this morning and as we all assumed, she has a little bigger brother. It is official, Jonnie is bigger then Carson...in weight! She still has him chasing after her height department. Carson is weighing in at 24.9 lbs (17% for girls her age) and she is 37.3" tall (98%). Carson has learned all of her letters and is pretty good with knowing the sounds they make also. So now whenever we go anywhere she is pointing out signs and saying, "Look mama, Look a W" or whatever the letter is. At first I thought that it was just a lucky guess but she has been pretty consistent with getting the letters right. She is still working on her colors. She thinks a majority of the colors are blue but she seems to be getting a little better as we are working on them. Jonnie is right behind her, he is trying so hard to keep up with her.

Hawaii Trip

Carson is TWO!!

My oh my, our little girl turned 2! Within the last couple of days she has really shown us previews of the year to come. So please keep us in your thoughts as we shop for a special time out chair :o)

Off to the Aloha State!

We are leaving on this very early morning off to Hawaii for our family vacation. We are all looking forward to some sand and sun! Please have Justin and I in your thoughts, we will be traveling with a one year old and a two year old on a 7 hour flight - AS LAP CHILDREN. People used to say that we were crazy and now I am believing them...good thing Grandma Kathie & Grandpa Chuck will be on our flight ;OP We'll let you know how it went when we get back! Aloha!
